I am a Christian artist, living in Cornwall with my husband, Richard and our four children. I have been painting and drawing for most of my life and have a BA(Hons) in Graphic Design and Illustration as well as a P.G.C.E which qualifies me to teach in Art and Design.
I generally paint portraits and landscapes, but more recently I have been experimenting with some mixed-media pieces that have been inspired by my Christian faith.
It is my hope that the subject of my artwork will inspire people to look more deeply into the things of God, whether it’s through inspirational Bible verses, the beauty of creation or the emotion portrayed in humanity. I love painting; it refreshes me and brings me great joy. I believe that God has blessed me with a gift and it is my hope that the subject of my artwork will also be a blessing to everybody that views my work.
"In 2010, some missionaries from our church gave a presentation on the work that they had been doing on the Burma/Thai border. When I saw this image I was totally blown away by the beauty of the scene." Alison Powell

It was as if you could hear the girls' whispers and feel their devotion to God and I felt compelled to recreate the scene in a painting. From left to right, these girls are called, Naw CheeChee, Popa daw & Naw Salaboo.
The verse on the back of the card reads, ” The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their cry.” Psalm 34 : 15
The lion is a reminder of the Lion of Judah in scripture. This magnificent animal is watchful, as if no detail would escape his attention. Our God sees every aspect of our lives and cares for us.
